Two For One Friday

Good Morning and I for one am glad it's Friday. Seems like visitors have slowed down during this time of year....must be all the shopping and getting ready for Christmas. Here's a couple of cartoons to go with the day ...and see you Saturday with a side of cartoons.

"Not By Design"

Let's have a good Wednesday and get started with a cartoon about something we all do. Load our blogs up with too much advertising or cute little toys. There is so many clever little gadgets , buttons, music boxes , videos, meters, ads , ads, ads, . I confess I am guilty of this trap. At one time you couldn't see the cartoons for all the stuff I had hanging to the sidebars. High hopes of making some money from ads while offering a good blog subject was my goal ....I made .73 cents...I got rid of the bells and whistles ads .
We think adds are great....because we are surrounded by them all day ....in our billboards ....magazines , radio , TV ,Internet and now , our blogs. I admit , I love to try these gadgets out ...hoping to attract viewers to spend more time at my blog, but most of them only distract from the content.
I for one am going to control myself and not put too many gadgets , widgets, buttons and bells all over my blog . A few adds in good taste are fine and some informative gadgets, like the new traslators etc. that don't distract from the content.. I think our readership will improve. O.K. I'm getting off my "soapbox" and back to cartooning. Enjoy , and have a side of cartoons today.....Robbay

"Doing It All"

Monday , Monday....Time to get to work...At least it will be a short week. This morning our guy is off to get things done. Two or three things at the same time. Do you find yourself in the same situation? With our state of economy and fast pace of life , we don't really have much choice. When I did this cartoon I was reminded of my boyhood when a Aluminum Foil company advertised that Mom could wrap the roast , carrots and potatoes in foil....put them on or near the manifold of the car, drive around doing the chores and when she got back home .....dinner would be cooked by the car. Really.... a true story. Today you couldn't do that with oil costing almost $100.00 a barrel. We are an inventive lot and if there is a way of doing more than one task at the same time ...., we'll find it. Best have another side of cartoons...Robbay

"Look A Like Contest"

Good Morning..Sunday is a great day to start the week...don't you think? Old politics, new politics and funny politics have all started out to capture our attention and opinions. Well, some politicians want our opinions...On some issues of importance...Take George B's "Look A Like Contest" with politicians like we have in this country , I don't have to look very hard for funny material for my cartoons. This political season is sure going to be fun and by the time it's over I will have made some fun at all of them. Remember , fun it is , we have to laugh at ourselves first and George B has gotten the ball rolling..., have another cartoon on the side and a great day. Robbay

"Who's the Biggest of Them All?"

Hope your Saturday is off to a good start. Ever noticed there is always a bigger something that appears just when you think you've seen the biggest. We always have a way of creating another link in this so called "Food Chain".....,A bigger building , a longer bridge, and so forth. Satisfaction might stop the" biggest problem" and imagine what creative ideas would come out of the energy of not trying to be the Biggest. "Two For One Friday"

Oh boy! It's Friday! ..., This week I'm really glad today finally arrived. This week has been a long one....getting ready for next weeks feast of eating. If you hadn't noticed I really have a concern for the over-eaters(self included) and make some real digs at our present society for allowing this health epidemic to get so out of hand . So, come on guys and gals let's shape up for Thanksgiving , then Christmas and finally New Years Day. We have some delicious foods to eat and enjoy , so we're going to need some good cartoons to keep it in perspective. On a lighter side how about a puzzle cartoon? One to exercise the brain. What is Leonardo saying? Better have a side of cartoons, a cup of coffee and some fun today...,Robbay

"Movie Magic/Movie Cat"

Movies have always been my favorite pass time . When I was a kid I sat in front of the radio and listened to the Mickey Mouse Club everyday...then like everybody else we got a television, and I sat in front of it when Mom would let me and watched serials and great old movies. The world of " movie magic" got a hold on me and never let go... I remember when I was old enough to go to the movies on Saturday alone and with friends, oh, the ebullience. Admission was 10 cents, popcorn,a coke, hot-dogs, and you never spent more than a dollar...Yes, today it's different we can spend the best part of a twenty-dollar bill, but if the magic is there, and the movie takes us away into that timeless place of total entertainment, then cost is not a dilemma. It's that magic we seek, where we can be every hero and live out our every dream.

I found some of that "Movie Magic" at a blog I visited recently, called MOVIE CAT. If you hadn't discovered this entertaining blog then its time you did.
Movie-Cat is full of humor about our passion for movies, and all the actors are cats in the movie poster post. Cats portray our favorite characters from all the movies. It's fun to see, Dirty Harry, Arnold S...and Clark Gable as cats..
The master creator of this funny madness is RobG. a knowledgeable "movie buff" and cartoonist. His control of PhotoShop shows, his artistic abilities. The qualities of his photo image cartoons are astounding. I hope using the expression cartoon is acceptable to RobG., ..and I hope he continues to entertain and delight us with his observations of the love and fascinations we have with the world of Movies. "Favorite Music"

Good Morning and a happy, healthy Tuesday.
My youngest daughter recently said " Dad the music you like sounds like the stuff they play in elevators." I disagree of course, but one man's music is , I guess another man's noise. When did jazz become canned music for elevators? If it has....., then that's the elevator for me. Good Morning on this bright cold Thursday.
Some good advice today from Mouse. Make friends with someone today....and watch where you step. If we step on someone else as we walk the career path, that person may have a big , really big friend. "Mother Nature's Helper"

Good Morning and let's hope to day is a better day. I was inspired to do this cartoon Sunday while watching "CBS Sunday Morning". They did a story on how we spray chemical on the food we eat. If I had a wish for everyone it would be that we could someday eat and produce only organic fruits and vegetables. Short and to the point today, a quick cartoon on the side. Robbay

"This Is What Happened"

Good Morning and guess what...,it's cold in Florida. I hope your off to a great Tuesday. It has come to my attention that the dragons were not slain by knights. Natural causes , that's what put them on the extinct list. You see you can't mix fire and gas. There is a good lesson in this for all of us, the Thanksgiving feast is not far away. Everybody wants to be around for the Christmas feast and New Years. If we add some exercise we'll be O.K. This fine Tuesday is headed for a equally fine Wednesday and a side of cartoons. Robbay

Sunday , Sunday...my my...what a nice day it is today. Get out and walk ..., walk the dog ...stroll through Fall together. That's how a fine Fall day started out for Bill Edna and their three dogs..Do you think it's true we become sometimes distant from our spouses ? I hope not but that's what has happened to Edna. "Two For One Friday"

Friday's always a great day no matter how bad the weather.
Ever been on one of those 5 day cruises, that all your meals are included and to boot they are 5 star quality. In the imaginary world of DIET X , there is a new pill. Check out our couple....The directions state : Before eating take one pill , and eat a large hardy breakfast and your on the way to a Caribbean food fest.. Of course you do fill the need for some lite- snacks along the way and they have stocked up on their favorites. Nice dream in the American Lifestyle. We always are looking for the "we do the work ,you have the fun", diet pills , exercise equipment, or true Mayan secrets of not aging.

On the other side of Robbay today Mouse is out to have a romantic weekend. I wish him luck in his quest. Ever wonder about the courting habits of a mouse? Hmmm...Have a great weekend and a side of cartoons. Robbay

"One Birds Problem"

Good Morning on this fine mid-day of our week. Tonight's is the night for those scary little goblins..I got my times mixed up and posted my Halloween Greeting one day early. Speaking of early, that's what today's cartoon is about. Things seem to be happening in our natural world too early. Glaciers melting and polar bears being run out of a place to live, it goes on and on. Anyway stop and think today about our earth and how we can do something to help, and if you see a penguin in need of a place to stay...give him space in your refrigerator , their not too messy. "Together At Last"

It is said that we'll be united with love ones in heaven. Here's a few guys that got up to heaven ahead of their wives. If you didn't know it ..men don't live as long as women...I just heard the other day , that for every hour of walking you can get a day of life added on to your expectancy. Not a bad idea!...Well for our guys there goes the golf games and poker , now it's an eternity of bridge and ball room dancing. "Dinner Out "

Monday has arrived, and a good Monday morning to you . Let's eat out tonight. I was cooking all weekend , anything I don't have to prepare, cook or cleanup after sounds delicious . Do you feel that way? Sometimes I wish we could just pop in a pill that was all the nutrition we need and be on our way. Most of the time I love home-cooking ,but when someone says "let's eat out tonight" I'm the first to say O.K. Our alien visitors I think feel the same way today , so when you're out tonight for dinner, say"hello! I'll have steak and a side of cartoons please." Robbay
